A learner accredited with this standard will now be capable of handing and storing hazardous / dangerous goods safely in accordance with national and international statutory requirements in any freight handling environment.

This qualification is aimed at individuals entering or currently employed in any capacity where handling of hazardous/dangerous and dangerous goods occurs across a range of different environments.

Learners accredited with the programme will be able to:

  • Identify and classify hazardous/dangerous goods.
  • Handle and store hazardous/dangerous goods.
  • Implement statutory requirements.
  • Take the appropriate actions in the event of accidents or incidents

Entry Level Requirements

Individuals accessing this qualification must have demonstrated competence in an NQF 1 or General Education and Training Certificate in: Occupational Health, Safety and General Housekeeping; Safe packing, Handling and Securing of Freight
