This programme is intended for persons working in the retail and wholesale sector who count stock for either general stock counts or a financial stock take. This short course is aimed at people who work in a manufacturing or warehousing environment, and who are involved in stock taking. 

This course will give you an understanding of why stock taking is important, as well as give you the knowledge and skill to count stock and perform stock reconciliation.

Discuss the reasons why stocktaking is performed. Discuss periodic stocktaking. Discuss perpetual stocktaking. Explain the control group approach to stocktaking. Discuss stock reconciliation. Prepare for stock count. Count stock. Perform post stock count housekeeping functions.
