This skills programme is aimed at people who wish to prepare, use and operate equipment to support a manufacturing process. This skills programme is aimed at people who utilise equipment and consumables to perform activities and functions that support the manufacturing process and is designed for learners learning and working in a particular process within a specific metals production environment.

Entry Level Requirements

This unit standard has been designed as part of a progression. It is one of a series of unit standards for activities below, at and above this level. The credits assigned to it are based on the assumption that I am learning what is needed for this unit standard as part of my learning for a range of related unit standards at this level or below it. Course Outcomes

Plan to perform support activities and functions. Prepare consumables and equipment for use. Operate manufacturing equipment. Liaise with process control personnel and maintenance specialist. Work safely with due care for self, fellow workers, equipment, materials and the environment. Discuss and explain information related to work schedules.
